Everyone in a client has one of three roles. A role belongs to one client, so you can be an editor in one client and a reader in another.
| Reader | Editor | Facilitator | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Read the map, its practices and the org chart | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Open maturity maps | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Change the map and maturity maps | No | Yes | Yes |
| Add teams and functions on the Manage page | No | Yes | Yes |
| See the Changes page | No | Yes | Yes |
| See whether a relation was stated or inferred | No | Yes | Yes |
| Invite people, change roles and remove people | No | No | Yes |
| Connect Claude to the client | No | No | Yes |
| Create a new client | No | No | Yes |
Readers
A reader sees the whole map and can open every practice, stage and maturity map. There is no Edit map button and no Manage link, and the dialogs have no forms.
Editors
An editor keeps the map up to date. Edit map at the top right turns on edit mode, where you add, rename, move and delete things on the map and fill in their details in dialogs. Manage opens the page for teams, functions and the list of changes.
Facilitators
A facilitator does everything an editor does, and also looks after the client: who belongs to it, which role each person has, and whether Claude can work on its map. A facilitator of any client can create a new one. A client always has at least one facilitator.
Which role you have
If you see Edit map at the top right of the map, you are an editor or a facilitator. If the Manage page has a Members link, you are a facilitator. Otherwise you are a reader. Ask a facilitator if you need a different role.
